Cascade Chapter AUVSI Meeting

We'll be attending the fall meeting of the Cascade Chapter of the AUVSI September 27-28 2012 at the Inn of the Seventh Mountain in Bend Oregon.  AUVSI the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International is the world's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems and robotics community. Serving more than 7,000 members from government organizations, industry and academia, AUVSI is committed to fostering, developing, and promoting unmanned systems and robotic technologies.

We are excited about attending this meeting and meeting some of the local companies involved in this exciting industry!

PulsedLight Announces Development Contract

On Monday August 13, 2012, PulsedLight entered into a product development and licensing agreement with Pacer Components, Ltd., a leading international specialist and supplier of optoelectronic and photonic products, systems and displays, with offices in the UK, US and a worldwide network of manufacturing and distribution partners.

We feel that this is a strategically important development for PulsedLight and will establish our technology as a viable and competitive option in the optical sensor market.

PulsedLight Awarded Patent

On February 28th 2012 PulsedLight was awarded US Patent # 8,125,620 B2.  This is the first of several patents that have been filed for our Optical Sensor technology.  With the issuance of this patent, we have established the foundation of a defensible IP technology position in the highly competitive optical distance measurement technology segment.

Our technology solution has the lowest complexity hardware enabling the smallest possible size and lowest cost.  It also has the ability to easily switch between accuracy, operating range and measurement time under software control and a processing method ultimately reducible to a single-chip range finding solution for demanding, high-volume, low-cost applications.
Currently under development is a new class of optical sensors with accuracy of 1cm all contained on a single board of under 1 square inch. We are able to use relatively low power optical sources such as LEDs or VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers) for short range applications, out to 200 meters, and when using high power sources can offer improved long range performance using high power sources. Our technology can also be optimized for ultra-low power consumption for battery powered applications.
We are actively seeking strategic partners who are interested in pursuing niche applications of our technology in emerging markets such as robotics, autonomous vehicles and UAV's as well as working in more conventional sensor markets where our technology can provide distinct advantages over existing non-contact sensors.
